Man Airlifted After Pickup Truck Crashes Into Tree Near Huntington Intersection
Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that seriously injured a man near a Long Island intersection. It happened around 10:05 a.m. Saturday, July 2 in Huntington. The man was driving a 1996 Dodge pickup truck northbound on Park Avenue when his vehicle crossed over the southbound lane, left the roadway and struck a tree, Suffolk County Police said. Constantine Nektaredes, age 67, of East Northport, was airlifted via Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Gunshots Fired At Long Island Park Forcing Lockdowns
A shooting in a Long Island park sent area schools and town hall into lockdown. The incident took place around 9:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 1, at Heckscher Park in Huntington. Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating said during the incident, shots were fired into a golf cart at the park by a passing vehicle. LI Woman Involved In Crash Was Driving Drunk With 9-Year-Old Twins In Car, Police Say
A woman was driving drunk with her 9-year-old twins when she fled the scene of a car crash on Long Island, police say. It happened on Friday, Oct. 11 at approximately 7:20 p.m. in Huntington with her 9-year-old twin children in the vehicle, Suffolk County Police said. Cassidy Bartasi, 49, of Huntington, was driving a 2018 Acura when she sideswiped another vehicle at the intersection of Park Avenue and Main Street and then drove away, police said.
