Man Rescued After Saving Service Dog On Long Island
A 34-year-old man was rescued on Long Island after he got stuck while saving his service dog from the same fate. The incident occurred on Sunday, May 12 in Oyster Bay. Nassau County Police reported that a man, 34, was walking his service dog near the water just before 8:30 p.m. when the dog went into the water for a swim. However, during the swim, the pup got stuck underneath a dock and began to struggle. Residents of a Long Island home were displaced after a fire severely damaged the residence. Responders raced to the house in Syosset, located on Bluebird Drive, as it became engulfed in flames at about 4:40 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, the Nassau County Police Department said. Several residences were damaged and multiple people were displaced after a fire broke out at a Long Island apartment complex, police said. According to officials, the fire started at approximately 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 1 at one of the units in the Eagle Rock apartment complex on Pond Road in Woodbury in Nassau County. A jet ski driver received injuries to his face after his watercraft exploded in the water on Long Island. The explosion took place in Nassau County around 5 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 15 in Oyster Bay, authorities said.
