Bicyclist Struck In Westhampton Airlifted To Hospital, Police Say A bicyclist hit by a vehicle was airlifted to a Long Island hospital. The incident took place in Westhampton around 10:45 a.m., Monday, Sept. 26 on Old Riverhead Road. Southampton Town police responded and requested additional personnel for assistance, said Lt. Susan Ralph of the Southampton Police.  Westhampton Beach Police, Suffolk County Sheriff’s, Westhampton Beach Fire Department, and Westhampton Beach Volunteer Ambulance responded as well.  Suffolk County Aviation has been requested to fly the victim for further medical attention, Ralph said.  Southamp…

Police Ask Public's Help In Locating Westhampton Purse Thief Police are asking the public's help in identifying and locating a man accused of stealing a purse out of a car in Westhampton. The alleged purse thief reportedly pried open the window of a 2014 Nissan parked at the Suffolk County Nature Preserve at 613 Old Riverhead Road on Wednesday, June 26 at around 12:40 p.m. and stole a purse, Suffolk County Police said.
