Grounded: FAA Temporarily Bans Drones Over Parts Of Long Island Amid Mystery Sightings
Think twice about launching that drone.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued temporary flight restrictions over parts of Long Island on Friday, Dec. 20, amid mysterious drone sightings in the region.
Restrictions are in effect until Sunday, Jan. 19, over locations determined by the FAA to be critical infrastructure sites, according to Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office.
Among the Long Island locales on the list are Oceanside, Roslyn Heights, Levittown, Melville, and Commack.

Man Accused Of Intentionally Hitting Woman With Car In Nassau County
A Long Island woman suffered injuries after a man allegedly assaulted her during a confrontation in a parking lot, according to police.
The incident occurred Saturday, Nov. 9, around 1 p.m. in Oceanside, at 3458 Long Beach Road.
The 28-year-old woman was attempting to back her 2011 Jeep out of a parking space when the man driving a 2019 Nissan, identified as 41-year-old John Ardolino, of South Hempstead, began honking, then parked behind her, blocking her from leaving, Nassau County Police said.

Long Island resident Michael McDougall, age 65, of Roosevelt, was indicted on manslaughter and related charges in Nassau County Court on Tuesday, Oct. 29, in the death of his mother, McDougall.
His sister, Nichole McDougall-Mullings, age 55, of Roosevelt, was also charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person.

Melissa Beltre, a 42-year-old South Hempstead woman, faced her arraignment for her alleged scam on Thursday, March 14, the Nassau County District Attorney announced.
