Man Dies In Fall From Roof In Nassau County A man fell to his death from the roof of a two-story home on Long Island, authorities say. The incident occurred on Maple Avenue in Lynbrook on Saturday, Nov. 30.  According to Nassau County Police, the 47-year-old man lost his footing while working on the roof and fell to the ground, sustaining severe head trauma. The victim, whose identity and place of residence have not been released, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a physician. 26-Year-Old Airlifted After Fall From Conveyor Belt In Melville Police are investigating an industrial accident that seriously injured a Long Island man. Nassau County resident, Timothy Baumann, age 26, of Merrick, injured his arm after falling off a conveyor belt at Rason Asphalt, located at 136 Spagnoli Road, in Melville, at 8 a.m., Friday, March 11. Baumann was airlifted by helicopter to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow for treatment of serious injuries, said the Suffolk County Police. Worker Killed In Accident At Long Island Business An employee was killed in an accident at a Long Island business. It happened on Friday, Oct. 9 at approximately 4:50 p.m. in Central Islip. Osvaldo Flores-Osguin, age 45, of Brentwood, was repairing a tire on a forklift at T&D Supplies, located at 1599 Ferndale Blvd., when it exploded and struck him, Suffolk County Police said. Flores-Osguin was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. Lorgio Jimenez-Suarez, 52, of Astoria, fell around 2:39 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the new shopping area located at 100 North Water Street, said Lt. Terry Blake with the Norwalk Police Department.
