Nor'easter: Number Of Long Island Deaths During Storm Reaches Four The number of people who have died on Long Island during the worst winter Nor'easter in several years has reached four. The first man drowned at about 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, in Suffolk County after falling into a swimming pool while clearing snow at his home in Cutchogue, said Southold Police Det. Richard Buonaiuto said. Responding officers pulled the unconscious man from the pool and began CPR with the assistance of Cutchogue Fire Department Rescue personnel, Buonaiuto said.
