Do you know him? Authorities are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a man who allegedly used a stolen credit card at a Long Island convenience store. The man used the card at 7-Eleven in Smithtown, located at 91 Sheppard Lane, Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police said. The card had been stolen from a handbag at Short Beach in Nissequogue on Saturday, Aug. 24. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. Long Island Man Critically Injured After Fall
A Long Island man was critically injured after falling off a stone wall while painting a home. The incident took place in Nissequogue around 12:30 p.m., Monday, May 23. Rosin Santos was painting a home, located at 24 Spring Hollow Road when he slipped off a stone retaining wall and fell 20 feet to the ground, said the Suffolk County Police. Santos, age 54, of Commack, was transported via Nissequogue Fire Department Ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where he is in critical condition, police said. Man's Body Found On Long Island Beach
Police are investigating after a body was found on a Long Island beach. The man's body was found around 6:40 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 12 by a passerby at Stony Brook Harbor in Nissequogue in Suffolk County. High Bacteria Levels Lead To Closures Of 50-Plus Long Island Beaches
Heavy rainfall in the region has forced the Suffolk County Health Department to close more than 50 Long Island beaches due to excessive bacteria levels. The Suffolk County Department of Health issued an advisory against bathing at 57 beaches due to the “potential that the presence of bacteria at levels that exceed New York State standards will impact these areas.” According to health officials, the beaches covered by the advisory are located in areas that are heavily influenced by stormwater runoff from the surrounding watersheds and adjacent tributaries, and because of their location in an…
