23-Year-Old Killed After Being Struck Outside Riverhead Auto Dealership A 23-year-old was killed after being struck by a pickup truck and possibly another vehicle in a crash outside an auto dealership on Long Island. The incident happened around 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30 in Riverhead, in front of the Apple Honda Dealership at 1375 Old Country Road.  First-arriving Riverhead PD patrol units located a man struck in the roadway.  The Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps. was requested and responded to the scene to assist the victim.  The Riverhead Police Detective Squad was also requested and responded to further the investigation.  The sub…

Long Island Man Killed During Head-On Crash With School Bus In Suffolk A Long Island man was killed after crashing into a school bus while allegedly driving erratically and crossing the double yellow line on the highway, police said. John A. Caputo, age 31, of Valley Stream, was killed around 5 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 10, in Riverhead. According to detectives, the Riverhead Town Police received a report of an erratic driver in a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee failing to maintain its lane of travel, westbound on Sound Avenue.
