Grieving Family Hopes For Witness To Hit-Run Crash That Killed 17-Year-Old In Suffolk
The uncle of 17-year-old Jenna Perez, who was killed by a hit-and-driver while crossing the highway just before 9:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 24, in Port Jefferson Station, hopes there was a witness to the tragedy.

17-Year-Old Killed In Nesconset Highway Hit-Run Crash
A teenage girl was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Long Island.
It happened Saturday, Aug. 24 just before 9:30 p.m. in Port Jefferson Station, Suffolk County Police Major said.
The girl, Jenna Perez, 17, of Selden, was crossing Nesconset Highway southbound, approximately 300 feet west of Terryville Road, when she was struck by a vehicle believed to be traveling westbound, according to police. The vehicle fled the scene, police said.
Perez was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

Smithtown Woman, 20, Seriously Injured In Two-Vehicle Crash
Three people were injured, one seriously, in an overnight two-vehicle crash in Suffolk County.
Emily Loach was driving a 2017 Honda Accord eastbound in the left lane on Nesconset Highway near Southern Boulevard in Smithtown when she attempted to make a right turn and struck an eastbound 2010 Jeep in the right lane driven by Neiko Genao at 1:49 a.m., Suffolk County Police said. The Jeep overturned.
Loach, 20, of Smithtown, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
