Former Nassau County Executive Tom Gulotta Dies Former Nassau County Executive Tom Gulotta, who was in charge for more than a decade before he was forced to not seek reelection in 2001, died on Sunday, Aug. 4 at the age of 75. Current County Executive Laura Curran announced Gulotta’s death in a statement. “In his career in government that spanned over four decades, Tom served our residents with distinction,” she said. “In recent years, I was lucky enough to become good friends with both Tom and his wife, Betsy.
