Attempted Murder: Man Tries Stabbing Woman To Death At Inwood Home, Police Say A man is facing attempted murder charges after allegedly trying to stab a woman to death at a Long Island home. The incident happened in Inwood, at a residence on Mott Avenue, at around 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26. Nassau County Police said officers responded to the home for reports of a disturbance. They found a 42-year-old woman on the ground with lacerations on her arm and face. The victim was taken to a hospital and was listed in stable condition. 24-Year-Old Man Killed Crossing Long Island Roadway A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle on Long Island. The accident took place around 9:08 p.m., Monday, Feb. 3, while the pedestrian was attempting to cross the Nassau Expressway in Inwood, said the Nassau County Police. According to detectives, while attempting to cross Mott Avenue, from the east side to the west side, a 24-year-old man was hit by a 1995 Honda traveling northbound on the expressway.  The unidentified man suffered multiple injuries and was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
