A man who was hit by a car while attempting to cross a Long Island street is in critical condition while police search for the perpetrator. The incident happened in Roslyn Heights on Monday, Jan. 1, according to Nassau County Police. It was just before 5:15 p.m. when the victim, a 91-year-old man, started to cross Mineola Avenue near the intersection of Hillside Avenue when he was hit. Police on Long Island are searching for three men who allegedly robbed a man and woman while threatening them with a knife. The incident took place in Roslyn Heights around 12:30 a.m., Friday, July 22. A would-be burglar didn’t make it far after allegedly attempting to rob a Long Island restaurant then fleeing the scene on a bicycle with a flat tire, police said.
