Man Posing As FBI Agent Used Forged Check To Buy $16K Diamond From LI Jewelry Store, Police Say
A 51-year-old man who posed as an FBI agent has been caught after using a forged cashier's check to purchase a diamond valued at nearly $16,000 from a Long Island jewelry store, police said.
A thorough investigation was conducted after the incident, which occurred on Monday, Oct. 28 at around 12:20 p.m. in Garden City.
On Saturday, Nov. 23, Michael Morgan, of Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with third-degree grand larceny, second-degree possession of a forged instrument and first-degree criminal impersonation.
