Man Struck, Killed By Car On Long Island Street An 85-year-old Long Island man is dead after a car hit him as he tried to cross the street, police said. The incident happened in Manhasset on Thursday, Dec. 28, according to Nassau County Police. Mykola Rybalka, age 85 of Manhasset, was crossing Plandome Road, heading east at around 5:30 p.m. when the car, a 2021 Infiniti, hit him. It is unclear where on Plandome Road he was crossing.  The Infiniti, driven by a 79-year-old man, was driving north on Plandome Road.
