Suspect Nabbed In Shooting Death Of Long Island Man A suspect has been apprehended in connection to the shooting death of a Long Island man last week. The shooting happened in East Patchogue outside a residence on the 500 block of Taylor Avenue at around 5:10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21.  The victim, Tyrell D. Smith, 25, of Shirley, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
