Stock Swindler: Barred Glen Cove Broker Sentenced For Scheme An investment broker who admitted to using his client’s money on luxury cars, plane tickets, and more has received his prison sentence. Peter Quartararo of Glen Cove was sentenced to two-and-a-half to seven-and-a-half years in prison on Friday, June 14, the Nassau County District Attorney announced. Quartararo, who is 57, was a stockbroker who had previously been barred from operating as such in 2013 by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Ex-Yale Med School Worker Who Stole $40 Million In Electronics Sentenced A former Yale University School of Medicine employee who stole $40 million in computer and electronic hardware from the university has been sentenced. Jamie Petrone, age 43, a former resident of Naugatuck, was sentenced on Thursday, Oct. 13, to nine years in prison followed by three years of supervised release for wire fraud and filing a false tax return, according to Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut. Long Island Auto Classic Back For Second Season The classic car season is revving up this weekend where an elegant turn-of-the-century Georgian estate will host classic, exotic and luxury cars. The 2nd Annual Long Island Auto Classic is Sunday, June 9 at the Mansion at Glen Cove, which today is a hotel. A benefit for the Katz Institute for Women's Health there will be fine food and beverages, a DJ, live music and vendors, from vineyards, to cigar makers, to jewelry designers. Exhibiting vehicles may arrive from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. The event is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Car show, tickets and more is on the website.
