Long Island Trio Indicted In $107M Scheme To Defraud Lottery-Winning Clients Three on Long Island have been indicted for their roles in a $107 million “Lottery Lawyer” scheme. Dix Hills resident Jason Kurland, Oyster Bay resident Francis Smookler, Roslyn resident Frangesco Russo, and Staten Island resident Christopher Chierchio were charged in Brooklyn federal court with multiple charges of: wire fraud,  wire fraud conspiracy,  money laundering,  and money laundering conspiracy.
