20-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Crash On Long Island A 20-year-old was seriously injured in a single-vehicle Long Island crash. It happened around 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 in Copiague. The victim, a man who resides in Copiague, was riding a gas-powered scooter eastbound on Oak Street, near the Long Island Railroad Station, when he lost control and struck a cement pillar, according to Suffolk County Police. The man has been at the Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue since Wednesday, April 12, according to a Facebook post shared by the page IAC NY. According to the post, which was written by hospital Vice President Ellen Mullally, the man had no identification on him when he was brought to the hospital and could not tell staff who he was. “He is a docile patient who exhibits some OCD traits and behaviors,” wrote Mullally. Uniondale Man Holds Up Gas Station At Gunpoint For Pack Of Cigars, Police Say A Nassau County man wanted a smoke when he allegedly held up a Valero gas station with a gun for a pack of cigars, Nassau County Police said. The robbery took place around 8:35 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 22, at the Valero gas station on Manor Parkway, said police.
