A man who was critically injured has died after a weekend Long Island shooting. It happened on Saturday, March 19 at around 2:20 a.m. in Long Beach. The victim was shot in the vicinity of 425 East Broadway and sustained severe injuries, Nassau County Police said. Long Beach Police responded and the victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police on Long Island and members of a synagogue are searching the beach for two Torahs stolen when the temple was vandalized over the weekend. Long Beach police arrested Hunter McElrath, age 23, of Staten Island on Sunday, Aug. 22, and charged him with the vandalism of the Nassau County synagogue in which two Torahs and silver crowns were stolen. A Long Island teen was arrested for allegedly driving at a high rate of speed through an area crowded with numerous vehicles and dozens of pedestrians. John C.
