Long Island Woman Accused Of Setting Fire At Group Home
Six residents and two staffers have been displaced from a group home on Long Island after a woman allegedly set fire to a mattress. The Nassau County Police Arson Bomb Squad said the incident took place around 1 a.m., Friday, Jan. 26 in Locust Valley. According to detectives, officers responded to a 911 call for a house fire located at 67 1st St. A mattress was set on fire and the Locust Valley Fire Department responded to extinguish the flames. Residents Displaced After Syosset Home Severely Damaged In Fire
Residents of a Long Island home were displaced after a fire severely damaged the residence. Responders raced to the house in Syosset, located on Bluebird Drive, as it became engulfed in flames at about 4:40 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, the Nassau County Police Department said. The 42-year-old man who owned the home told authorities that all occupants were outside, NCPD said. Apartments Damaged After Fire Breaks Out On Long Island
Several residences were damaged and multiple people were displaced after a fire broke out at a Long Island apartment complex, police said. According to officials, the fire started at approximately 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 1 at one of the units in the Eagle Rock apartment complex on Pond Road in Woodbury in Nassau County. Upon arrival, police said that first responders found the apartment building fully engulfed by fire. No injuries were reported, and all occupants of the building were evacuated, police noted.
