New Update: Second Man Charged In Brutal Assault On Gay Couple At Long Island Beach A second suspect is facing hate crime charges in connection with an unprovoked attack on a lesbian couple at a Long Island beach. Thomas Gair, age 66, of Patchogue, was arrested Wednesday, Aug. 9, on suspicion of assault and harassment, according to Suffolk County Police.
