Long Island Man Nabbed For Shooting At Cop While Fleeing Crash Scene, Police Say
A 27-year-old man who allegedly fired gunshots at a police officer on Long Island during a chase last month was taken into custody following an investigation. Leroy Jones was arrested on Sunday, Jan. 5, following an investigation into a Middle Island incident that saw a Suffolk County Police officer shot at during a foot chase following a traffic stop. According to police, a woman was driving a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder westbound on Middle Country Road when a 2020 Volvo sedan traveling southbound on Wellington Road struck the passenger side of her vehicle at approximately 8:20 p.m on Dec. 23. …
