A woman has been indicted for allegedly being intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of more than three times the legal limit while driving a group of campers, and leaving the scene of two crashes on Long Island.
The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office reported on Tuesday, Aug. 3, that Diane Juergens, age 61, of Ridge, has been indicted on:

A drunk Long Island man has been charged with leaving the scene od a crash with a serious injury, police said.
Elvis Lazo, 29, was driving a 1999 GMC in Lindenhurst westbound on Hoffman Avenue, between New York Avenue and Albany Avenue, when his vehicle crashed into a westbound 1989 Harley Davidson that was attempting to make a U-turn on Hoffman Avenue at 11:40 p.m. Saturday, July 18, Suffolk County Police said.
Lazo then fled the scene, according to police.

A woman who allegedly ran over her ex-boyfriend on purpose with her vehicle as he walked along a roadway and then fled the area has been charged with assault.
Nassau County Police said the incident took place around 12:16 a.m., Sunday, June 14, in Flora Park.

A Long Island woman who fled the scene of a crash in which a pedestrian was injured was driving drunk with a child inside the vehicle, police say.
It happened on Saturday night, Nov. 16 in Wyandanch.
Tasena Jennings, 33, of West Babylon, was driving a 1999 Lincoln Navigator northbound on N. 20th Street when the vehicle struck an occupied, parked 2003 GMC, causing the GMC to strike a pedestrian in front of 127 N. 20th St. at 7:10 p.m., Suffolk County Police said. Jennings then fled the scene, according to police.

A Long Island man driving drunk left the scene of an accident following a crash that injured a pedestrian, according to police.
It happened on Sunday, Nov. 3 at approximately 12:20 a.m. in Centereach.
Robert Bickmeyer, 60, of East Patchogue, was driving a 2006 Nissan eastbound on Portion Road, at the intersection of Avenue B, when his vehicle struck a pedestrian who was walking in the bicycle lane, Suffolk County Police said.

A Nassau County man was arrested for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident after hitting two people and then fleeing the scene.
Amir Dashti, 27, of Glenwood Landing, was arrested around 8:15 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 14, for the crash which took place at 10:35 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, on Scudders Lane, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, Dashti was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro eastbound on Scudders Lane in Glenwood Landing when he allegedly struck two victims standing in front of 150 Scudders Lane and then fled the scene, police said.

An allegedly drunken driver took off on foot after before being taken down by officers following a crash at a busy intersection in Selden, police said.
Selden resident Candice Girolando, 37, was driving west shortly after 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, on Route 25 when she drove into a Jeep at the intersection of Blue Point Road, police said.
