Teens' Jet Skis Collide, Hospitalizing 1, In Long Island Accident Police are investigating an accident that occurred when two teenagers’ jet skis crashed into each other at a Long Island beach, sending one to the hospital. The incident occurred on Sunday, June 25 at approximately 12: 46 p.m. in Point Lookout, Nassau County Police reported. Two teenagers, aged 15 and 16, were riding jet skis in the Jones Inlet when they suddenly collided with each other. The 16-year-old victim suffered a compound fracture to his leg. Jet Skier Holding Onto Buoy Rescued On Long Island A jet skier found himself in a precarious position clinging to a buoy off the Long Island coastline before police came to his rescue. The Nassau County Police Marine Bureau received a report of a jet skier, possibly in distress, holding onto a buoy at approximately 9:25 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, in Point Lookout with a disabled jet ski. Man Rescued After Sailboat Hit By Large Wave Overturns In Jones Inlet A man was rescued after awaiting help on top of a sailboat that overturned when it was hit by a powerful wave. It happened around 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 in the Jones Inlet off Freeport. Upon arrival by Nassau County Police Marine 6 officers, it was determined the boat had been hit by a large wave and the operator, a 45-year-old man, was thrown into the water.  The victim was able to climb on the overturned boat and await police arrival.
