Woman Stopped For Speeding Charged With Dwai After Nearly Crashing Into Suffolk Sheriff Cruiser A woman allegedly driving under the influence of drugs nearly struck a Suffolk County Sheriff’s cruiser on the Long Island Expressway while going more than 30 mph over the posted speed limit. Suffolk County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Merrick resident Joanne Geraci, 36, at approximately 1:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, after she was stopped for driving 88 mph on the LIE in a posted 55 mph zone.
