Two women were charged with prostitution after police raided a Long Island massage parlor following multiple community complaints.
The Tuesday, Nov. 12, operation at Welian International Inc., located in East Northport, at 360 Larkfield Road, involved officers from the Suffolk County Police Second Precinct Crime Section, the Town of Huntington Fire Marshal, and the Building Department.

A Long Island man was arrested for luring and sexually assaulting a 12-year-old, authorities announced on Thursday, June 17.
Cecilio Viera-Viera, age 21, of Freeport, met the girl on social media and lured her through conversations and interactions to meet him in person on Friday, June 4, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.

Two men were rescued from a sinking 25-foot sailboat overnight on Long Island.
Suffolk County police officers William Houst, John Mullins, Michael Klarmann, and Steven Squires, onboard Marine X-Ray, responded to a 911 call of a boat sinking in Fire Island Pines Harbor at approximately 1 a.m. Saturday, May 29.
The lines on the sailboat broke and were being smashed against the dock and other boats. Chris Sinforter, age 32, of Brooklyn, and Christian Teneyck, age 37, of Jersey City, were onboard the sinking sailboat and unable to get off safely due to high seas, according to police.

A 67-year-old teacher from Long Island is accused of sexually assaulting a female student at the New Jersey school where he worked in 2019, authorities announced Wednesday, March 17.
Apparao Sunkara, age 67, was arrested at his Hicksville home on Tuesday, March 16, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
