Popular Elmont HS Principal Back On Job After Mysterious Absence A popular Long Island high school principal who was mysteriously away from his job just days before school started has returned to his position. 'Where Is Mr. Dougherty?': Long Island HS Students Walk Out Over Absence Of Popular Principal Students at one Long Island high school spent the first day of school holding a walkout to protest the disappearance of their beloved principal.
