Tayquan Mayo-Dunmore, age 30, of Bellport, was indicted on seven charges, including vehicular assault, in Suffolk County Court on Friday, July 7. Passenger Dies After Car Crashes Into Tree In Hempstead, Driver Charged With DWI, Police Say An investigation is underway after police said a drunk driver crashed into a tree on Long Island, and a passenger who was ejected from the car died from his injuries. The crash happened in Hempstead at about 10:40 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, according to the Nassau County Police Department. NCPD said a 2018 Dodge Charger, occupied by multiple passengers, was traveling east on Jerusalem Avenue in the area of Ingraham Boulevard at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and struck a curb. According to Riverhead Police, when officers responded to the two-vehicle crash involving a blue Volvo and a red pickup truck, the truck attempted to flee the scene but was stopped a short distance away. Woman Accused Of Driving While Intoxicated In Medford With Three Children In Vehicle A 37-year-old Long Island woman is facing charges after authorities said she drove while intoxicated with her three children in the vehicle. Authorities arrested Lydiana Soto Martinez, of Medford, at 2:50 a.m. on Sunday, July 3, according to the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office said Soto Martinez failed to maintain her lane on State Route 112 in Medford and was stopped by deputies.  Her children, ages 15, 12, and 5, were passengers in the vehicle, authorities said.
