Deadly Crash: 'Serial' Drunk Driver Sentenced For Long Island Wreck That Killed 27-Year-Old
A 15-time felon with a history of driving drunk will spend more than a decade in prison for causing a DWI crash on Long Island that killed a 27-year-old man. Jordan Randolph, age 43, of Bellport, was sentenced to 12 1/2 to 25 1/2 years in prison in Suffolk County Court on Friday, June 16. It followed his jury conviction for aggravated vehicular homicide and other charges in the death of Johnathan Flores Maldonado. Intoxicated Long Island Woman Nabbed Driving Wrong Way, Sheriff's Office Says
A Long Island woman driving the wrong way while intoxicated on the Sunrise Highway was apprehended by authorities overnight. At approximately 11:43 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, while transporting a separate individual arrested for driving while intoxicated, Suffolk County Sheriff’s Deputies passed a driver heading westbound in the eastbound lanes of Sunrise Highway in Shirley, nearly crashing into the Sheriff’s Office vehicle, said Sgt. Suffolk Man Attempting To Visit Inmate Charged With Driving Without Interlock Device
A Long Island man accidentally found himself in police custody while attempting to visit an inmate at the Suffolk County Correctional Facility in Riverhead. Westhampton Beach resident Matthew Eckart, 37, sought to visit an inmate shortly after 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at the prison. According to the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, upon arrival at the facility, a computer check of DMV records determined that Eckart’s driver’s license was restricted, and he was required to drive with an Ignition Interlock Device due to a previous DWI conviction.
