Cat Killed In Long Island House Fire A cat was killed during a Long Island house fire that caused extensive damage. The blaze broke out in Suffolk County around 6:20 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 28 on Jamaica Avenue in Greenlawn. According to Greenlawn Fire Chief Angelo Santomauro, first arriving firefighters reported heavy fire showing and transmitted a working fire.  Firefighters made an aggressive attack quickly knocking the fire down limiting any extension.  Once the fire was under control, firefighters went to work with search and ventilation operations.  There were no injuries, but a cat did perish in the fire…

Members of the Melville Volunteer Fire Department responded at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 24, to the Huntington Hilton on Broadhollow Road, where there was a reported car fire.
