Long Island Woman Charged With DWI After Good Samaritans Rescue Her From Burning BMW A woman was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated after being pulled from a burning BMW that crashed into a utility pole on Long Island, police said. Saint James resident Melanie Lhommedieu was driving a 2009 BMW southbound on Wheeler Road, at the intersection of Marlo Lane shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday, July 29 in Happaugue, when the vehicle crossed the double yellow line and crashed into a utility pole.
