Man, 21, Charged In Fatal Merrick Stabbing Was In Romantic Relationship With Victim, Police Say A 21-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a teaching assistant with whom police say he was romantically involved two weeks after a fatal stabbing shocked a quiet neighborhood in Merrick. Evan Grabelsky, 32, was found with multiple stab wounds at his home on Elliott Street and Frankel Boulevard in Merrick around 11:45 p.m. Saturday, June 1 after what police described as a lengthy struggle.
