Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that extra patrols will be on the lookout for drunk and drugged drivers over the Fourth of July weekend. With the arrival of fall, there is an increased risk of crashes involving deer, both the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) are warning motorists. Seeing Green: NY State Police Steps Up DWI Driving Enforcement
The enforcement and prevention campaign, aptly held on Thursday, April 20, announced that the state police will be stepping up patrols to target drug-impaired driving. The New York State Police announced in a statement that statewide, the campaign is aiming to train over 100 more officers using the Drug Recognition Experts (DRE) training program, administered by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.
