Two suspects have been apprehended after an armed robbery of a Long Island convenience store.
A man approached an employee of Speedy Mart and Gas in Port Jefferson Station, located at 1034 Route 112, displayed a gun, and demanded cash, at around 9:20 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, Suffolk County Police said.
The clerk complied, and the robber fled the scene on foot to a vehicle waiting down the street.

A 22-year-old man is facing charges after he was allegedly caught with a ghost gun and drugs during a traffic stop on Long Island, authorities said.
Shemar Freire, of Union City, New Jersey, was stopped by police at around 10:30 p.m. Monday night, Dec. 5, as he drove in Inwood, near Sheridan and Doughty boulevards, Nassau County Police said.
Officers reportedly pulled him over due to his excessively dark window tint.

An 18-year-old is facing charges after police said he was found in possession of a ghost gun during a traffic stop on Long Island.
Kyle Gritser, of Hicksville, was arrested in New Cassel at about 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
The ghost gun was discovered after officers pulled over a 2010 Infiniti G37 on Prospect Avenue at Urban Avenue due to traffic violations, police said.

A weekend police chase on Long Island ended with troopers finding a so-called ghost gun.
The incident began around 11 a.m. Sunday, May 1, when troopers attempted to stop a Nissan Altima for speeding on the Northern State Parkway near New Highway in Smithtown, New York State Police said.
After a short pursuit, the driver entered the on-ramp to Sunken Meadow Parkway but lost control on a curve and crashed near a wooded area, police said.

An NYPD officer and two co-conspirators, all from Long Island, are facing charges for their alleged roles in a drug trafficking scheme, authorities announced.
Officer Joseph Recca, 28, of West Islip, and two others were arraigned on Wednesday, July 22, Suffolk County officials said. They were arrested the day prior during a traffic stop.
