A Long Island high school transitioned to remote learning for the second straight day as more than 100 students were placed under quarantine due to newly reported positive COVID-19 cases. Shoreham-Wading River High School announced that it was closed for in-person learning on Friday, Oct. 30 following two new cases that were reported late on Thursday, Oct. 29. 19 Exposure
This story has been updated. The Shoreham-Wading River Central School District is closed on Monday, March 9 after it announced a faculty member may have been exposed to the novel coronavirus. The cancellation was announced in a robocall in which Superintendent Gerard Poole said he was informed the spouse of a staff member was diagnosed COVID-19 positive. Long Island HS Football Coach Reinstated After Investigation
A high school head varsity football coach has been reinstated after being temporarily removed from his position after an alleged incident during a scrimmage involving a player on Long Island. Aden Smith is back on the sidelines for Shoreham-Wading River High School after being suspended earlier this month, the school announced on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
