A 38-year-old man who devised a plan to rob a Long Island Wells Fargo — including zip-tying the victims — has now been sentenced to a lengthy stay in prison.
Quincy Homere, age 38 of Hempstead, was given his sentence of 18 years behind bars on Friday, March 1 for the 2015 incident, the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO) announced.
As the brain behind the robbery (which netted the group over $375,000), Homere extensively planned the heist with his co-conspirators, the USAO said.

Hewlett Man Sentenced For Fatally Stabbing Victim In Heart On Street Corner
A Long Island man has been sentenced to prison for driving a steak knife into the heart of another man, killing him.
Keith Pooler, age 56, of Hewlett, was sentenced on Friday, Oct. 7 to 25 years to life in prison for the murder of 49-year-old Andre Garry, of Hempstead in June 2020, said Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly.
Pooler was convicted in May after a jury trial before of murder and criminal possession of a weapon, Donnelly said.

Man Dies Days After Being Struck By SUV Near Hempstead Intersection
A man has died from injuries he suffered after he was struck by an SUV on Long Island.
The crash happened in Hempstead on Sunday, May 29 at around 1:10 a.m., according to Nassau County Police.
The man was crossing Fulton Avenue near Clinton Street when he was hit by the 2013 Mercedes Benz SUV, according to police.
The driver of the SUV, Alrich Braide, age 34, of Hempstead, who remained at the scene, was charged with driving with a suspended license.
On Friday morning, June 3, police announced that the man struck has been pronounced dead by a hospital physician.

Alert Issued For Missing Long Island 15-Year-Old
Police are asking the public for help locating a Long Island teen who has been missing for a day.
The teen, identified as Kevin Martinez, age 15, of Hempstead, was reported missing to Nassau County Police around 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 23.
According to detectives, Martinez was last seen leaving Fulton Avenue in Hempstead.
He is described as being Hispanic, with brown hair and brown eyes, 5-foot-6, 140 pounds, with an unknown clothing description.

Wanted Long Island Man Nabbed For Shooting That Seriously Injured Victim
Police have apprehended a man wanted in connection with a shooting that seriously injured another man last month.
The shooting took place on Long Island around 11:40 a.m., on Sunday, April 19, in Hempstead, said Nassau County Police.
According to Gang Investigation Squad detectives, the 35-year-old victim was being chased by Loren Lake, 34, of Hempstead, following an earlier disagreement.
While chasing the victim on Fulton Avenue, Lake allegedly fired a handgun, striking the victim in the back, police said.

A Nassau County babysitter is facing child endangerment charges after leaving two infants unattended at her home, one of which suffered several injuries that required a trip to the hospital, police said.
