Ford is recalling hundreds of thousands of SUVs that could potentially have a faulty fuel injector that could lead to fuel spills or potentially leak vapors onto hot engines, posing a fire hazard. The motor company announced a recall of nearly 650,000 Ford Bronco Sport and Escape SUVs that were produced between 2020 and 2023 with 1.5-liter, three-cylinder engines, according to officials. Police are investigating after a woman's car was stolen at gunpoint on a Long Island residential street. The robbery happened just before 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, in Williston Park, Nassau County Police said. Investigators said the 50-year-old woman was getting out of her parked Ford Escape on Stratford Avenue when she was approached by a man who pointed a gun at her and ordered her out of the vehicle. A car crashed into a Long Island home following a two-vehicle crash. The incident took place around 11:20 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 19, when Suffolk County Police officers responded to a two-vehicle crash that caused one vehicle to crash into a house in Brentwood. According to police, a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder was struck by a 2008 Ford Escape. The driver of the Nissan lost control and the vehicle struck a house on Hewes Street. Suspects On Loose After Victims Flee From Car During Armed Long Island Robbery
Two armed robbers are on the loose after an alleged armed robbery on Long Island. A 45-year-old driver and his two female passengers were driving on Sprague Avenue at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, in West Hempstead, when a tan Ford Escape cut them off, forcing the vehicle to stop. Nassau County Police said that two men, both armed with a black and a silver handgun, exited the Ford and approached the victims’ vehicle. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers are on the lookout for a woman suspected of stealing cash from a gas station in Medford.
