Bank Robbery Spree: Suspect Nabbed After String Of Incidents In Nassau County
A suspect has been apprehended after a string of bank robberies and attempted robberies on Long Island that started in early January.
At about 1:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, the suspect, identified as Willian Andrade Jordan, age 31, entered the Bank of America in Baldwin, at 2300 Grand Ave., approached a teller, passed a note threatening a gun and a knife and demanded three thousand dollars, Nassau County Police said.
The 29-year-old female victim walked away from her station and Jordan fled the scene on foot without receiving any proceeds, according to police. No injuries were reported. …

The identity has been released of a man who was killed after exiting a popular Long Island diner when he was struck by a drunk driver, according to authorities.
Officers responded to the parking lot of On Parade Diner in Woodbury, located at 7980 Jericho Turnpike, at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18.
Willem Specht, age 62, of Woodbury, entered his gray 2004 Infiniti sedan before backing up southbound and striking a man who just exited the diner, Nassau County Police said.

A 22-year-old man is facing drug charges following a traffic stop on Long Island, authorities said.
Nassau County Police officers stopped Shadon Chestnut, of Queens, at around 11:20 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, as he drove near Burnside Avenue and Doughty Boulevard in Inwood.
Officers initially pulled him over after seeing that his 2019 BMW had heavily tinted windows, police said.
During a subsequent search of his car, police reported finding white, powdery substances believed to be fentanyl and cocaine.

Three men are facing charges after they were allegedly caught stealing mail from a Long Island post office.
The trio was busted shortly after 2 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 26, after officers witnessed two of the suspects exit a vehicle and remove mail from drop boxes at the Merrick post office, located on Fisher Avenue, according to Nassau County Police.
Detectives arrested 24-year-old Noah Aranzamendi, of Brooklyn, and 30-year-old Ralph Aranzamendi, of Howard Beach, Queens, without incident.

A traffic stop on Long Island ended with a passenger in handcuffs on weapons charges.
Officers in New Cassel stopped a Dodge Charger at around 9:20 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, near Prospect and Magnolia avenues due to a suspended registration, according to Nassau County Police.
While speaking with the driver, a man in the passenger seat, 38-year-old Ishmel Cohen, of Brooklyn, began acting suspiciously and officers asked him to exit the vehicle.
