Long Island Man Strikes Victim In Head With Metal Sign During Argument, Police Say A 26-year-old Long Island man struck a victim in the head with a metal sign, causing serious head trauma, during an argument, police say. It happened around 2:20 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24  in Hempstead. According to detectives,  Edgar Hernandez, of Hempstead, got into a verbal argument with a 57-year-old man in front of 391 Fulton Avenue.
