Long Island Man Strikes Victim In Head With Metal Sign During Argument, Police Say
A 26-year-old Long Island man struck a victim in the head with a metal sign, causing serious head trauma, during an argument, police say.
It happened around 2:20 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24 in Hempstead.
According to detectives, Edgar Hernandez, of Hempstead, got into a verbal argument with a 57-year-old man in front of 391 Fulton Avenue. Hernandez then took a metal Boost Mobile advertisement sign and struck the victim in the head, according to police.

Teen Hid Cell Phone Camera In Bathroom At Long Island Restaurant, Police Say
A teenager is facing charges that he concealed a cell phone camera in the woman's bathroom at the Long Island restaurant where he worked.
According to detectives, the boy, a 17-year-old from Bay Shore, worked at the El Coyote Loco Restaurant, located at 3543 Merrick Road n Seaford, where he concealed a cell phone in the women's bathroom pointing at a toilet and set it on record on Saturday, Nov. 30, Nassau County Police said.
Later, an 8-year-old female victim went into the bathroom and saw the phone pointing at her while using the restroom, according to police.

22-Year-Old Tried To Scam Nearly $10K From Long Island Man, Police Say
A 22-year-old man has been charged with attempting to scam nearly $10,000 from an elderly Long Island man.
According to Nassau County Police Fraud and Forgery Detectives, the victim, a 77-year-old man from Lake Success, was contacted on Monday, Nov. 18 by an unknown male subject who claimed to be a bail bondsman who needed to pick up bail money for the victim's grandson, who was involved in a DWI auto accident, in the amount of $9,500.00 cash.
