'Enraged' Customer Admits Slashing, Disfiguring Bouncer At Long Island Bar
A bouncer at a Long Island bar is permanently disfigured after an angry customer slashed his face after being denied entry.
Darieo St. Leger, age 34, of Islip Terrace, pleaded guilty to one count of assault in Suffolk County Court on Tuesday, Nov. 28.
According to prosecutors, it was around 12:40 a.m. on Oct. 23, 2022, when St. Leger and the bouncer began arguing outside the Ivy Kitchen and Bar in Huntington after the bouncer refused to let him inside.
He admitted that he slashed the bouncer across his face, from ear to mouth, with a sharp object before fleeing the scene.

A Long Island pleaded guilty to pushing, biting, and slashing his ex-girlfriend’s family members while trying to get to her, authorities announced.
On Monday, Aug. 21, the Suffolk County DA announced that 30-year-old Calverton resident Guillermo Ayala Jr. admitted guilt for the attack, which occurred in December 2022.

A Long Island man was sentenced for beating his two nephews with a metal pipe in 2018 in an attack that caused one of the victims to lose a limb.
Carlos Ortega, age 42, of Central Islip, was sentenced to eight years in prison and five years of post-release supervision for first-degree assault, Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney announced on Monday, Nov. 21.

A Long Island man has been charged with assault after allegedly stabbing another person during an altercation.
The incident took place in New Cassel around 5:50 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 1 in the area of 846 Prospect Ave.
According to detectives, two men were arguing when the incident escalated one was stabbed by the other in the chest. The suspect, identified as Emilio Cruz-Yanes, age 59, of Newe Cassel, then fled the scene.

Suspect Nabbed For Stabbing Outside Long Island Restaurant
A suspect has been apprehended after a stabbing outside a Long Island restaurant.
The incident happened Friday, Jan. 1 at approximately 5:40 p.m. in Farmingville.
Following an alteration, Arlington Guzman-Mejia, age 38, of Port Jefferson Station, stabbed a man outside of Los Amigos Restaurant, located at 1075 Portion Road, Suffolk County Police said.
Sixth precinct police officers responded and arrested Guzman-Mejia, 38, at the scene.

Police have apprehended a man wanted in connection with a shooting that seriously injured another man last month.
The shooting took place on Long Island around 11:40 a.m., on Sunday, April 19, in Hempstead, said Nassau County Police.
According to Gang Investigation Squad detectives, the 35-year-old victim was being chased by Loren Lake, 34, of Hempstead, following an earlier disagreement.
