Dozens Of Cars Destroyed As Fire Spreads To Hotel Parking Lot On Long Island
A midday car fire outside a Long Island hotel rapidly spread to many other vehicles, destroying at least 25 of them.
Members of the Melville Volunteer Fire Department responded at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 24, to the Huntington Hilton on Broadhollow Road, where there was a reported car fire.
Upon arrival, Fire Chief David Kaplan said crews found multiple cars burning in the middle of a storage lot of approximately 1,000 Uber vehicles.

LI House Fire Deemed Suspicious After Residents Hear Breaking Glass, Then Smoke, Police Say
A "suspicious" house fire on Long Island is being investigated by the bomb squad after the residents awoke to the sound of breaking glass and then a fire.
The Nassau County Arson Bomb Squad said the fire took place around 1:20 a.m., on Thursday, July 2, in Westbury.
According to detectives, a female, 27, was in her Madison Street bedroom when she heard glass break and started to smell smoke.
She alerted four other male tenants ages 8, 33, 42, and 51 and all evacuated the residence, police said.
No injuries were reported.

Long Island Home Heavily Damaged By Blaze, Firefighter Injured
A Long Island home was heavily damaged by a fire that also injured a firefighter.
The fire took place around 12:30 p.m., Sunday, March 15, on Frisch Place in North Bellmore, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, officers responded to call for a fire at a residence on Frisch Place. Upon arrival, officers found the home engulfed in flames and the occupants were out of the home.
The North Bellmore Fire Department with the assistance of East Meadow, Merrick, North Merrick, and Bellmore fire departments were able to extinguish the fire.
