Authorities identified a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a FedEx truck on the Long Island Expressway. The incident happened in Jericho, in the eastbound lanes of I-495 between exits 40W and 40, at around 2:45 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22. Federal authorities are sounding the alarm over scams that impersonate well-known businesses and government agencies. In 2023, data from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) alone show more than 330,000 reports of business impersonation scams and nearly 160,000 reports of government impersonation scams.
