Trio Recruits Own Kids To Steal From Nassau County Macy's, Police Say
Three people are accused of recruiting their own children to help them steal from a Macy’s store on Long Island.
The incident happened in East Garden City, at Roosevelt Field Mall, shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17.
According to Nassau County Police, a security guard stopped two women and a man who left the store while concealing dozens of items that weren't paid for. The trio were accompanied by three children, ages 3, 10, and 13.
Together, the group stole 67 pieces of merchandise by concealing items inside bags and a stroller, police said.

'Irate' Passenger Exposes Himself To Girls, Man Aboard Nassau County Bus, Police Say
A man is facing multiple charges after allegedly exposing himself to two minors on a Long Island bus.
The incident happened in Cedarhurst, on an MTA bus that was traveling near Rockaway Turnpike and Rugby Road, at around 9:15 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19.
Nassau County Police said a 30-year-old man and two girls, ages 17 and 7, were riding on the bus when another passenger “became irate,” pulled his pants down, and exposed himself to the victims.
The suspect, 61-year-old Dwight Poorman, of Far Rockaway, Queens, then threatened them with a stick, police said. Nobody was injured.

A Long Island church member is accused of sexually abusing a teenage girl inside his place of worship.
Clinton Bucknor, age 71, of Huntington, was arrested Thursday, May 9, following an investigation by Suffolk County Police detectives.
According to police, the victim’s sister called 911 on Wednesday, May 8, saying her 15-year-old sister had been sexually abused by an employee at the Huntington Seventh-Day Adventist Church, located on West 9th Street.

Two people are facing charges after an incident in which a man threatened a woman's family with a shotgun at a Long Island home, leading to the discovery of firearms and other weapons, according to police.
Officers responded to a call for a disturbance at a residence in Old Bethpage at around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 20.

Police on Long Island have arrested a man in connection with a fatal overdose.
Holtsville resident Nicholas Mayfield, age 40, was nabbed in Uniondale at about 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, Nassau County Police said.
According to police, Mayfield was taken into custody after authorities began investigating the fatal overdose death of a Nassau County resident.

A recently fired man was arrested on Long Island after he went to his former employer’s home on Christmas Day and assaulted two people, police said.
It happened on Monday, Dec. 25 in North New Hyde Park, according to Nassau County Police.
At approximately 4:15 p.m., 37-year-old Kar Toong arrived at a home on Robby Lane to confront his former employer about being fired, yelling and swearing.

A 25-year-old Long Island woman allegedly exposed herself and used a shower rod against officers during her arrest, police claimed.
The woman, Lourdje Elien, was arrested on Thursday, Dec. 21 at approximately 3 a.m. in Uniondale, according to Nassau County Police.
After what was reported to be a disturbance, police found Elien, a 25-year-old Uniondale resident, outside of her Park Place home, screaming and exposing herself.
