Woman Attacked By Dog At Nassau County Home A woman is recovering after being attacked by a dog on Long Island. The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, in Elmont. Nassau County Police officers responding to the Newburgh Street residence found the 81-year-old had suffered multiple lacerations to various parts of her body.  The victim was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment of her injuries. She is currently listed in stable condition.  The Nassau County Emergency Service Unit (ESU) responded and secured the animals. The investigation is ongoing.

Gerdine Oswald was last seen in Elmont at around 8 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, according to Nassau County Police. She was reported missing Thursday afternoon. Oswald is 5-feet tall and 100 pounds, with black and auburn hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing black shorts and a black shirt.
