Emergency crews were initially called at around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, after the boy’s mother found him in the pool at their East Moriches home on Woodcrest Drive, according to Suffolk County Police. The 44-year-old woman performed CPR on the boy until medics arrived and took him to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead.  He was later transferred to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition.
