Researchers have found that the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine has proven effective in fighting off more contagious variants of the virus. A pair of new studies found that the Moderna vaccine, which is one of three approved by the FDA for administration in the U.S., is effective against the California variant that has recently been rapidly spreading, with protection lasting for at least six months. The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to prove that it doesn’t discriminate when choosing its victims. A pug in North Carolina has tested positive for COVID-19, which is believed to be the first confirmed case for a dog in the United States. Northern Westchester Woman Dies From Injuries In Sri Lanka Terrorist Attacks
A Northern Westchester native died from injuries sustained in the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks targeting Christians in Sri Lanka. "Chelsea Decaminada, a 2011 graduate of John Jay High School in Cross River and 2015 Duke University graduate, was in Sri Lanka on assignment with the Office of the General Counsel of the Commerce Department. Syracuse University men's basketball coach Jim Boeheim made his first public appearance three days after the SUV he was driving struck and killed a pedestrian on Saturday, Feb. 23. Boeheim was back on the bench coaching the Orange in a 75-65 nationally televised loss to No. 1-ranked Duke at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse.
