A man has been accused of driving drunk after a two-vehicle crash results in the deaths of a man and woman, both in their mid-30s, overnight on Long Island.
The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12 in Laurel Hollow.
According to detectives, Sotirios Spanos, age 32, of Syosset, was operating a 2023 Acura MDX, traveling eastbound on Northern Boulevard in the vicinity of Moored Hill Road when he crossed over the yellow divider and collided with a 2013 Ferrari Convertible traveling westbound.

On Tuesday, Aug. 8, Nassau County Police announced that 18-year-old Jorge Bonilla Gutierrez of Freeport was arrested in connection to an Aug. 7 West Hempstead incident.

ATV Crash: 26-Year-Old In Critical Condition, Suspect Charged With DWI After Long Island Wreck
A Long Island man is facing DWI charges after he allegedly caused an ATV crash that sent a 26-year-old woman to the hospital.
The crash happened at around 8 p.m. Saturday, June 10, in Brookhaven, on Bellport Avenue near Louise Avenue.
Suffolk County Police said Tayquan Mayodunmore, age 29, of Bellport, was driving the ATV while intoxicated when the vehicle overturned.
The crash caused his passenger, Jessilyn Johnson, of Medford, to strike her head on the pavement, police said.

Sobriety Checkpoint: 7 Charged During Overnight Detail In Patchogue
Seven people are facing charges after an overnight sobriety checkpoint at the start of the Memorial Day weekend on Long Island.
Authorities conducted the operation in Patchogue at the intersection of Waverly Avenue and North Service Road from around 11:10 p.m. Friday, May 26, until 2:30 a.m. Saturday, May 27.
