Drunk Long Island Man With 3 Kids In Car Accused In Hit-Run Crash, Police Say
A Long Island man was driving drunk with three young kids in the vehicle when he crashed into a parked car and then fled the scene, authorities said. Nassau County Police were called at around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, with reports of a car crash in New Cassel, near Elton Street and Anna Avenue. Officers determined that Eyler Ortiz Alvarado, of Westbury, was driving a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck when he struck an empty parked vehicle before fleeing the scene, police said. Seen this truck? Police investigators on Long Island are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian with serious injuries. Shortly before 7:10 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7, Suffolk County police investigators responded to a reported hit-and-run in the hamlet of Riverside in the Town of Southampton, where there was a report of a pedestrian struck on Riverleigh Avenue. Two-Year-Old Critically Injured In Long Island Crash
A 2-year-old boy was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash on Long Island. The crash happened around 4:45 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10 in Nesconset. Kevin Cavooris, 33, of Saint James, was driving a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage eastbound on Middle Country Road, near Cambon Place, with his 2- and 4-year-old sons in the vehicle, when an eastbound 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 struck the rear of the Mitsubishi, Suffolk County Police said.
