20-Something Trio Arrested, Vehicles Seized During Illegal Car Meet-Up In Yaphank
Three men were arrested and their vehicles were seized after police say they participated in an illegal car meet-up on Long Island.
Following an investigation, it was determined an illegal car meet-up was occurring in Yaphank at 53 Zorn Blvd. at approximately 11:40 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, Suffolk County Police said.
During the event, officers arrested the following:
Zachary Donahue, age 23, of Sayville, who was driving a 2006 Ford Mustang and was charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving, and two counts of unlawful speed contest.

A former Yale University School of Medicine employee has admitted to stealing $40 million in computer and electronic hardware from the university.
Jamie Petrone, age 42, pleaded guilty on Monday, March 28, to wire fraud and filing a false tax return, according to Leonard Boyle, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Petrone is a former resident of Naugatuck in New Haven County, and she currently resides in Georgia, Boyle said.

Suffolk County Man Killed In Crash With Mack Truck
A man was killed in a crash with a Mack truck on a busy Long Island roadway.
Robert Favichia, age 57, of Copiague was killed around 5:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 25 in Lindenhurst.
Favichia was driving a 2001 Dodge pickup truck eastbound on Montauk Highway when his vehicle struck a 2009 Mack truck that was backing out of an alley in front of 51 Montauk Highway, according to Suffolk County Police.
He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The driver of the Mack truck, Erik James, age 43, of Brentwood, was not injured.

Two men implicated in multiple armed robberies on Long Island were arrested during a traffic stop in New Jersey, authorities said.
Police stopped Brooklyn residents Seti Barnwell, 22, and Emmanuel Philostin, 20, both of Brooklyn, in Hudson County after spotting their Dodge Charger with heavily tinted windows on the Meadowlands Parkway on Monday, Feb. 7, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said.

A man has been arrested in connection to a fatal hit-and-run that killed a mother on Long Island.
Mark A. Corrado Jr., 28, of West Babylon, was arrested by. East Hampton for leaving the scene of an incident that killed a 36-year-old mother who was pushing her kids in a stroller in Amagansett, around 11:45 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 13, said Captain Chris Anderson.
According to Anderson, Corrado was driving east on Montauk Highway near Bunker Hill Road in a 1997 Dodge pickup when he struck Yuris Murillo Cruz, who was with her 1-year-old and 4-year-old children.

A man was killed after being struck by a vehicle as he was crossing a busy street on Long Island.
The incident happened Tuesday, Dec. 29 at approximately 6:45 p.m. in Stony Brook.
Kimani R. Porter, age 31, of Brooklyn, was driving a 2017 Dodge truck southbound on Nicolls Road, at the intersection of Shirley Kenny Drive, when the vehicle struck the 60-year-old man who was crossing the street, Suffolk County Police said.
The victim, Kenneth Rott, 60, of Kings Park, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Porter was not injured.
