The incident happened in Wantagh, near the intersection of Island and Jennie roads, at around 12:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9. Nassau County Police said the victim was riding his bicycle when he saw a dirt bike near the entrance of a trail and approached it to get a closer look. Fatal Crash: 31-Year-Old ID'd As Victim On East Patchogue Roadway A 31-year-old was killed in a crash on Long Island. The incident happened in East Patchogue, on Americus Avenue south of Brookhaven Avenue, at around 8 p.m. Thursday, July 18. Suffolk County Police said the man, Noe Moran Contreras, of East Patchogue, was operating a dirt bike when he lost control and struck a pole. He was taken by ambulance to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue where he was pronounced dead. Investigators impounded the bike for a safety check. Albany Police arrested Austin Breyette, age 25, of Watervliet, early Thursday morning, May 23, in connection with the collision that left 18-year-old UAlbany freshman Alexa Kropf in a medically induced coma. 24-Year-Old In Critical Condition Following Long Island Crash A young Long Island man was left in critical condition after a late-night crash, according to authorities. The incident occurred on Friday, June 9 in Seaford, Nassau County Police reported. Just before 3 a.m., a 24-year-old man was riding his dirt bike and traveling south on Seamans Neck Road. Officials said the man lost control of his bike near the intersection of Oxford Lane, striking a tree. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment and remains in critical condition. Detectives from the Nassau County Police Department said that at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, the man was driving an unregistered dirt bike north on Grand Avenue in Baldwin when he crashed into a 2011 Toyota minivan. The accident took place around 8:53 sp.m., Thursday, May 27, on the Babylon Turnpike in Roosevelt.
